At this time, we are looking to fill the position of Quality Technician – Nuclear Industry (1-Year Contract) at our Peterborough, Ontario location.

Qualifications include:

An equivalent post-secondary education, such as a diploma or degree in engineering or quality technology, is also acceptable.

A familiarity with the application and interpretation of CSA N285.0, ASME Sec. III, the CSA Z299 Series of standard, and ISO 9001:2000 or other standards of a similar nature.
The ability to interpret drawings, technical documentation, purchase orders, and other types of documents.

The candidate must have a minimum of three years of experience in quality assurance or demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the foundations of quality programs.
Proficient with the applications of Microsoft Office.

A familiarity with the procedures of procurement.
A fundamental understanding of non-destructive examination reports (such as RT, UT, LP, and MP), dimensional inspection techniques, and weld inspection.

Planning for quality assurance inspections and testing, or experience that is equal in product, process, or equipment certification.

Strong communication abilities and a demonstrated ability to work well with others.
In order to become a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW), you are need to pass a medical exam or exams.

Keeper of records who is meticulous.

The capability to collaborate with members of the Engineering team, Customer Representatives, and Nuclear Inspectors across functional boundaries.

Obligations:

Drawings, technical documentation, procedures, purchase orders, ASME and CSA N285.0, and other documents are interpreted, and quality assurance criteria are determined.

An examination of the customer’s quotation in order to determine the quality requirements and to supply inputs for the completion of the RFQ (request for quote).
Develop the plans for the inspection and the tests.

Tests such as Factory Acceptance Tests, Lift Tests, Pressure Tests, and others should be observed, and it is important to make sure that the test plans are being followed.
Develop and send in data packages, sometimes known as history dockets, for design and construction projects.

Database management systems, Microsoft Office applications, and Livelink should be utilized in order to monitor, document, record, and retrieve information regarding production and documentation.

Make sure that the records and test results are in accordance with the standards of the quality plan.
Maintain communication with the Customer Quality representative and the relevant authorities on quality issues, and make certain that the inspection and testing plan is adhered to.

Consult with the Engineering department in order to ascertain the relevant corrective steps and the disposition of the item.

Determine whether or not the travelers have adhered to the procedures, specs, and other requirements.
Examine the purchase order and make sure it is in compliance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The quality of:

Observe the established policies and steps.
Maintain a production of a high quality.
Demonstrate a questioning approach and convey worries over quality.
Expertise in both technical and professional matters:

Daily measurements should be taken, and technical input should be provided regarding the conformance of components and parts to the design.

Perform tasks such as drawing sketches and basic layouts, documenting and analyzing data, performing calculations and estimates, and reporting findings.
The quality assurance needs can be determined by interpreting codes, standards, and technical documentation.

The Awareness of Safety:

Find the difficulties and challenges that pertain to safety.
Take the necessary steps to rectify the situation.
The corrective action should be monitored.
Taking charge of work

The business, supervisor, or management should be the focus of your attention.
Make sure that the time provided for the task(s) is properly prepared and scheduled.
Utilize available resources and collaborate with other groups of workers.
Learning That Is Applied:

Attend and take part in various learning and training opportunities and events.
Documentation, processes, and instructions pertaining to manufacturing quality should be learned and followed accordingly (BMS, QA-P, QA-WI, Forms, etc.).
