Cedar Heights Residential Living is seeking compassionate, enthusiastic, energetic, and professional individuals to work with children and adolescents at our Tottenham location (between Orangeville and Newmarket). Cedar Heights specializes in working with those diagnosed with ASD, FASD, and Dual Diagnosis. Residential help Workers offer persons with extensive help and supervision in many aspects of daily life, including education, behavior management, community involvement, and enjoyment.
The position needs the candidate to be available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, nights, and weekends. Cedar Heights Residential Living provides a vibrant work environment in a fast growing firm.
On-site/off-site training is available. All staff are also given the opportunity to engage in numerous courses to further expand their skills and knowledge of how to better serve our clients.
Qualifications & Skills
· Possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in psychology, sociology, social work, child and youth work, or a similar subject.
· Conduct criminal reference checks with vulnerable sectors.
• Medical with Hep B and 2-part TB tests · CAS SAFE record check
· $1,000,000 Liability Auto Insurance.
· Must have a valid driver’s license. · Prior experience is preferred but not essential.
· Required education and full COVID immunizations.
· Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related subject (finished or ongoing)
Position – Part-time workers available during the day, evening, and weekend. – Part-time overnight employment (Awake). Hours/days may be changeable based on availability.
Responsibilities and Duties
· Daytime staff are responsible for developing and implementing therapy programs focused on life skills and personal development, as well as advocating for clients both internally and outside. Understanding and adhering to the organization’s basic principles and mission statement; Participation in training and workshops.
· The Overnight Residential Support Worker assists all residents with their hygiene and daily life needs. The job comprises cleaning, food preparation, room safety checks, and some secretarial work.
Successful candidates will need to be available for shift work during the day, evenings, some weekends (depending on rotation), and occasional overnights (if needed).
