Farm Worker Needed at Vanco Farms – 9311 Trans Canada Highway, Mount Albion, PE.
Vanco Farms Ltd. specializes in producing specialized potatoes, organic potatoes, premium cut tulips, and tulip bulbs. The farm is family-owned and run, and we are happy to grow our products in Prince Edward Island’s unique red soil.We are currently searching for farm workers to work in our Mount Albion processing facility.
Follow the standard operational procedures.
To reduce workplace risks, follow methods and procedures that adhere to health and safety requirements.
Comply with food safety regulations.
Grading potatoes and/or tulips involves inspecting them as they pass through the inspection table, discarding sick or damaged products, and removing foreign materials.
Pack potatoes and/or bunch tulips according on customer needs.
Assist with maintaining equipment and facilities.
Other farm duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities.
Position Summary
The Farm Worker is part of the warehousing facility’s processing crew, responsible for grading, processing, and packaging potatoes and tulips.
Position Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory standards while completing on-farm tasks as directed by management.
Good physical dexterity and ability to work rapidly with your hands.
Ability to do repetitious tasks efficiently and accurately.
Capable of standing for a long time and working on your feet.
Responsibilities include lifting objects up to 30 lbs, working with minimal supervision, being self-motivated, proactive, and a team player.
No educational requirements
Experience is an asset.

Capable of working alone for extended periods of time and maintaining a positive attitude despite setbacks.
Attention to detail, rapid worker, and fast learner.
Physically fit and willing to work outside in all weather situations (rain, cold, and heat)
Demonstrated capacity to collaborate appropriately with persons of all ages, genders, abilities, cultural backgrounds, and individuals experiencing marginalization.
Valid G driver’s license is an asset.
Experience with carpentry, irrigation, and farm equipment is considered an advantage.
