We own and operate the NWP farm, which includes a flock of sheep and a herd of commercial and purebred cattle.
In addition to opportunities for research, the farm provides support with agriculture and agricultural programming.
The Part Played We are currently looking to engage two agricultural staff on a casual basis for our calving and lambing season, which will run from January 2024 to May 2024. These employees will be required to work 15 to 35 hours each week. Due to the nature of the position, shifts outside of typical business hours will be required.
Our agricultural workers are in charge of a variety of farm chores, including the following:
Calving and lambing, animal care, feeding, watering, and monitoring, building and equipment maintenance, field labor, and any other chores that may be required.
According to the AUPE Collective Agreement, the hourly wage is $27.37.

STANDARDS FOR THE JOB
The successful candidate will need to have the following experiences and skills to be successful in this role:
Canning experience and other agricultural chores are essential, but prior lambing experience is not required.
feeding, watering, and monitoring the animals
Comfortable working with both large and tiny animals.
Ability to lift 25 kilograms of weight
A history in labor and maintenance, the ability to work independently and on flexible schedules, and the capability to work autonomously
Capacity to execute work in unforeseen weather conditions
