To join our team and make a contribution to the smooth functioning of our production plant, we are looking for a Plant Maintenance Technician who is committed to their work and possesses the necessary skills.
operational closely with our Plant Manager, you will play an important role in our operations as a Plant Maintenance Technician. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our machinery and equipment are in the best possible operational condition, as well as to do routine maintenance on our facilities.
Duties and obligations
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on machinery and equipment, including troubleshooting, repair, replacement and sourcing of components
• Equipment Monitoring: Regularly inspect and monitor the condition of machinery, diagnosing issues, and addressing them promptly to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery
• Facilities Maintenance: Ensuring buildings and property are maintained per regulation, clean, manicured and kept accessible and safe in winter
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities including parts used, and equipment status
• Safety: Promote a culture of safety, adhering to all food and safety regulations
Participate in close collaboration with other members of the team and provide assistance to production people in order to accomplish operational objectives
Credentials and qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification an asset
• Proven experience in maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Familiarity with pressure and steam systems
• Good communication and documentation skills
• Commitment to safety and adherence to regulations
• Ability to start work at 5:30am, igniting ovens, completing boiler checks and able to work flexible hours and be on-call for emergencies
